Join us at e-flux for a special program organized in parallel to the exhibition Journeys with then initiated, on view at e-flux and Participant Inc. The program features the screenings of Charlie Ahearn’s The Deadly Art of Survival (1979), a no-budget kung fu film set in 1978 Lower East Side, followed by a talk with the filmamker; and Ray Marsh’s Lord Shango (1975), a blaxploitation/horror film set in a Yoruba village in South Carolina, followed by a talk with artist Tiona Nekkia McClodden, whose work an offering six years a conjecture (2018) is currently on view at Participant Inc as part of Journeys with the initiated.
